Daniel J. Levy, P.G.
Co-Founder & President
Daniel J. Levy leads the strategic development and field deployment of BlueCycle’s technology platform and watershed restoration programs. A professional geologist with more than 35 years of experience in environmental consulting and infrastructure delivery, he specializes in nutrient management, harmful algal bloom (HAB) mitigation, sediment remediation, and circular resource recovery systems.
Over his career, Dan has led the development and implementation of large-scale water quality and restoration initiatives across North America, integrating engineering, ecological restoration, and emerging technologies to address complex watershed challenges. He is a co-inventor of patented technologies for nutrient recovery and sediment management, including the award-winning Hydronucleation Flotation Technology (HFT) for algae harvesting.
Before founding BlueCycle, Dan held senior leadership roles at AECOM, where he helped advance innovative approaches for HAB interception, nutrient removal, and sediment management within major watershed restoration programs. He has also been actively involved in advancing hydrothermal liquefaction (HTL) systems that convert biosolids, algae, and other organic waste streams into renewable crude oil, supporting emerging “flush-to-fuel” resource recovery initiatives.
At BlueCycle, Dan focuses on technology commercialization, strategic partnerships, and full-scale implementation—translating scientific innovation into scalable solutions that help municipalities, utilities, and environmental agencies restore water quality while recovering valuable resources from nutrient-impacted waste streams.
